Looking after a commercial building in Keighley should not mean chasing four contractors. We cover cleaning, windows, grounds, waste and repairs across BD21 under one agreement.
Keighley is a substantial manufacturing town with a covered shopping centre, handsome stone civic buildings, a college campus and long runs of engineering works and trade units on the valley floor. Keighley is inside our West Yorkshire patch and is served with regular scheduled visits from Leeds. A site visit comes before any figure. We need to see the floors, the glazing, the yard and the bin store, and hear how the building is used, before writing a specification for it.
Keighley is the largest town in the upper Aire valley. The Airedale Shopping Centre, Cavendish Street with its glazed canopy and North Street with its civic buildings form the centre. Keighley College has a modern campus by the station. Engineering and manufacturing premises line Dalton Lane, and trade and retail units run along Royd Ings Avenue, Hard Ings Road and Beechcliffe. Airedale General Hospital is a few miles away at Steeton.
Keighley still makes things, and factory premises need practical support. Offices, canteens and toilets attached to workshops need daily cleaning that copes with oil and swarf carried on boots. Trade counters on Royd Ings Avenue need clean glass and clear parking. In the centre, shops and offices need regular cleaning and tidy rear service areas. Larger sites produce mixed waste streams that need separating and collecting on a dependable cycle.
Long engineering sheds have long gutters, and blocked ones cause most of the leaks. Northlight glazing, brick gables and steel doors all need periodic inspection. On Cavendish Street and North Street, stone facades, canopies and tall windows need high-level checks and redecoration. Newer retail units need cladding, signage zones and car parks maintained. Factory works are planned for shutdown weeks or between shifts, and shop repairs for early mornings.
Keighley is further up the valley from our Leeds base, along the A650. We visit first and spend time understanding how the site runs across a full week. The agreed services are then listed in a written schedule. You have one contact at AD Facilities Management who knows the site, organises the visits and deals with any repair that needs attention between planned inspections.
